Lean manufacturing helps companies survive recession

Lean Means Green at Haviland. In 2009, Haviland Products Company began its Lean Program, and in just a few short months, Lean initiatives have helped Haviland cut tens of thousands of dollars of operating cost by reducing wasted man hours, improving interdepartmental document efficiency, and streamlining inventory. The program is in its infancy stage at Haviland, but they hope to build on this early success to improve their overall profitability.
